Ditson Dread

This may be an unfamiliar body shape to many players but, this model was designed from one of the original steel-string Martin models. The “Ditson” company was one of the many names early Martin guitars were sold under before they had established themselves as independent brand.  Offering the vintage 12-fret positioning, changes the breath and headroom of this model compared to all the other dread models we offer. With a smoother-airy sound, this makes a great-guitar for players searching for a less “in-your face” tone that is associated with the TD or OM guitars.  Leads have just as much presence but with a sweeter/slower response and chordal arrangements come with clear distinctive tone.  Also great for those looking for a guitar well associated with drop tunings, we recommend the 25.5 if custom ordering for this use.
