The Modern Dread body shape was a new addition to the line of Madsen Guitars in 2013. Like the name states it is a modernized version of a standard Dreadnaught. A narrower waist, sleeker upper bout and slightly deeper lower bout provide a new take on a classic design. Achieving the same power and versatility as the venerable dread this body shape makes a great stage guitar for bluegrass to modern jam-rock music. Also, it is a sleek design that most custom orders have ended up including a cutaway and side-mounted pickup controls.
